Between long-awaited greenlit adaptations and surprising sequel announcements, 2020 is already looking like a mighty exciting time to be an anime fan, and while the rest of the world is uh…mostly continuing to be a shitshow, not all of these shows are shit! Kicking off the year in style, Yata and Haru are back with their first impressions on 20 seasonal premieres. Which ones have passed the litmus test all easy breezy? Which ones we did we low-key accidentally not save our writing for? (Asteroid In Love. It’s Asteroid In Love. Haru’s sticking with it, though.) And which ones are getting thrown straight in the fire? Find out below on For Great Justice’s first seasonal rundown of the new decade!
And just like that, fall is finally here! This season marks the 2-year anniversary of us covering airing shows, which feels like a huge accomplishment in and of itself, but we know we can do more, especially with the relative decrease in our amount of content lately, which is why…
…I’d like to introduce Catche, For Great Justice’s first new writer! Covering our bases with some more action-focused series that have never been as up Yata or Haru’s alley (as well as Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure come mid-season), Catche is a pleasure to work with and we hope you guys enjoy the greater diversity in shows covered with the standard amount of snark you’ve come to expect from us.
And that means for the first time in over a year now, we once again have 3 writers in one article! With a whopping 22 shows under the lens this time, what stands out as our favorites this season? Read on to find out!
As tends to happen, the start of the spring season is already upon us, but we’ve still gotta wrap up a handful of anime from this winter! Spring looks absolutely stacked, so we may be a bit late with those first impressions (especially considering how this post will butt into that time), but we’ll get ’em to you somehow. For now, take one last jaunt through the winter 2016 anime season with Yata and Haru as they form their final thoughts about every current thing they were able to finish over the last three months.
Such as Sekkou Boys.
Watch Sekkou Boys.
Well, we’re a little late once again, but sometimes you’ve just got to align leisure activity with free time…or in Haru’s case, hell. Sorry, Haru. Give him a round of applause, folks.
With just about 2 or 3 weeks left in the winter 2016 season, he and Yata are back to update you with their thoughts on this season’s shows, many of which haven’t changed all that much.
There are a couple which have.
Mostly for the worse.
Find out why and more below on this belated update from For Great Justice!
Welcome to 2016, everybody! We may be a couple weeks into the winter season, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still put out a belated first impressions and early Act 1 thoughts article! Instead of two separate posts, we’re combining them into one this time around, with Yata and Haru running down what we enjoyed or didn’t care for from the start of this year. Are any of the inevitable fantasy light novel adaptations watchable this season? Will pure CG ever be respected as a form of animation? And most importantly, does fan favorite ERASED meet the hype? Answers to these questions and more ahead on our early Winter 2016 Thoughts. Let’s do some animu justice, people!
Fall is coming. Prepare for pumpkin spice everything, spooky halloween things, and jacket weather. I couldn’t be more eager for the sweltering weather to end, quite frankly.
Hello everyone, this is Harubro! Unfortunately for us, and for you, the For Great Justice trio will not be able to assemble to record a podcast preview of the upcoming Fall 2015 season. L-K is off doing dastardly L-K things and Yatabro is neck-deep in his first semester of college. Kind of a shame, really, because we managed to tally over 1000 listens to our Summer preview podcast, which we were pretty stoked about. Worry not though, because your consolation prize is an *extremely* hastily thrown together season preview article written and delivered at the last second by yours truly!
Aren’t you all hyped up already~? (No? Too bad.) Let’s have a look at what I think looks watchable this Fall!
Hey, everyone! Sorry we’ve been a little slow in such a busy time of the year. Instead of running down the year’s best shows on a show-by-show basis, we thought of something a little more unique. A little more flashy. A little more fun to do. Yes, that’s right, Haru and Yata have come up with 33 categories and brainstormed who and what deserve these prestigious (?) anime-related awards from the year 2014. There are a lot of repeated winners – after all, this is to recognize what we thought were the best of the best and the worst of the worst, and as the saying goes, the cream rises to the top. We agree a lot, though occasionally we felt it necessary to deviate from each others’ opinions. Below are our award winners and explanations. Have a blast reading, and if you’d like, feel free to comment with your own winners.
