Pictured above, Gatchaman Crowds Insight, Oregairu 2, Noragami Aragoto, and DRRR!!x2 all aired this year as wonderful sequels, on par with or better than their originals. 2015 in general was a pretty strong year for sequels, and not just because at least 5 or more seemingly aired each season. I always appreciate a quality sequel when it comes, but to have at least one each season rival or outperform their predecessor is a gift.
Yes, we’re aware it’s now July and thus already season transition time again. Sorry for the late publishing, but we were holding out for Blood Blockade Battlefront’s finale, which now seems to be on indefinite hiatus, though given the information it will be over a half-hour in length, I think we can expect a great conclusion. We’ll get that to you at some point, but we obviously can’t wait any longer to touch on the rest of this season’s finales. What ended well? What did we not care for yet somehow finish? First impressions week can be a killer due to the sheer number of shows we feel obligated to try each season, and this time around we’ve watched over half of the pilots to new shows and thinned through the crap so you don’t have to.
